Straw and Order - A Lawfully Good Nativity! @LeckaunNS

Tonight is the night that Leckaun National School will put on a ‘Lawfully Good Nativity’. They will take the audience to a courtroom in the middle of Bethlehem.

Here we will meet a few tricky cows who feel pushed out of their stable and some indignant donkeys accused of having invited over a whole host of people - including a baby!
The Court Clerks, Miss Proper, Miss Correct and Grumps himself won’t be able to contain the commotion and will require the assistance of our new Garda Síochána recruits straight out of Templemore!

Judge Grumps by his name is harsh and will more that live up to his name as he grumpily storms out of the courtroom to witness the night’s events first-hand.

Grumps and his patient narrator will be transported from the Courtroom to Busy Bethlehem. They will encounter some social media crazy villagers, three bickering innkeepers,  a very Sassy Mrs. Innkeeper, a few very witty wise men complete with their own fan club, some super slick Quizmasters, two very cool and focused Shepherds with walkie-talkies, Dancing Sheep who love nothing more than to shake their tails at their adoring audience and a spectacular Angel Choir who would give the Nutcracker’s Clara a run for her money!

Oh the baby, don’t forget the baby! - a sweet voice will capture everyone’s hearts with “Precious Baby”.

But how will it all end? Can Judge Grumps manage to close the case or will those rowdy animals refuse to live in peace and harmony?

Join us in the Manor hall to see how the case proceeds!

TY Placement Week 2

We hand not one but two past pupils over the last two weeks in our school. Evanna was also taught by Mrs. Gilmartin in Junior Infants and again in her final year in 6th class.
The pupils and staff enjoyed welcoming past pupils back and we wish both students the very best in the future.

@LeckaunNS welcomes back past pupils on TY Placement

We gave Oisin a warm welcome last week on his return to our school. It is very special for Mrs. Gilmartin as she was both his Junior Infant and 6th class teacher.

Topps UEFA Champions League Sticker Collection @LeckaunNS

We really enjoyed participating in the second round of the Jazzy Media Promo Campaign. Lots of talk and discussion - statistics, graphs, probability, tactics, league tables, geography and trading skills in full flight - lovely to see!

Team Hope Shoebox Appeal 2022

Many thanks to our Parents’ Association and all households who supported this worthy cause.

Team Hope’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal is an annual campaign that delivers gifts straight into the hands of children affected by poverty.  Often these shoebox gifts are the only gift that a child will receive at Christmas and the joy that they bring is incredible. Since 2010, with your help, we Team Hope have delivered over 2.1 million Shoebox gifts to Vulnerable Children across the world.

Every year we are proud to support the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal in school and we hope that as many households as possible can participate by bringing in a filled and wrapped shoebox to give to children in the world far less fortunate than any of us.

Fire Safety Week @LeckaunNS

Many thanks to our local fire officers Joe McLoughlin and Colin Gilligan for visiting the Junior and Senior Room today.
We really enjoyed the visit and the pupils were excellent asking questions, doing a bit of research and enjoying the activity packs. Treats for everyone tomorrow compliments of Manorhamilton Fire Brigade.
