Religion

It is important to us in Leckaun National School that each child would have the freedom to grow as an individual with dignity, conscious of his own worth and respectful of the worth and dignity of his companions and teachers. 

Church of Mary the Mother of God

The children are encouraged throughout his life within the school to manifest the love of those around them through sharing, through enjoyment, through effort at their work and through behaviour worthy of a self respecting young person.

• The aim is that, in an atmosphere where love and respect are seen to be valued, s/he will grow in religious faith and in spiritual depth. 
• Leckaun National School is a Catholic school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Kilmore Bishop Leo O'Reilly. 
• Children are taught the approved Alive-O series and training is currently underway for the Grow in Love Religion Scheme. The school enjoys a very positive relationship with the Chairperson Fr. Anthony Fagan of Newtownmanor and Dromahair parish. 
• Our Religious Inspector is Sr. Anna.
