The new curriculum has twelve subjects in seven groupings:

3. Physical Education
4. Social, Personal and Health Education
5. Education for the Arts: Visual Arts, Music and Drama
6. Social, Environmental and Scientific education: History, Geography and Science
7. Religious Education
The principal division of content within each subject is the strand.
