In school we made Valentine's Day Folded Heart Cards. The idea for this came from DLTK's Crafts for Kids Website.

The instructions can be found here.

Enjoy the mid-term break!

We read the book "The Valentine Gift" by Maggie Kneen.

'I need to find a present' says Little Bunny Grey.

'To give to my friend Rosie on this very special day'.

'Something bright and beautiful to show how much I care.

A present to remind her of the happy times we share'.

Chinese New Year 2013 - Year of the Snake

Chinese New Year will begin on 10 February 2013 which marks the start of the Year of the Snake. The year will be 4711 on the Chinese Calendar. Chinese New Year is also known as the Spring Festival.
Chinese New Year is the main Chinese festival of the year and it is not a religious event. We explain some of the traditions and stories linked to this celebration.
As the Chinese use the Lunar calendar for their festivals the date of Chinese New Year changes from year to year. The date corresponds to the new moon (black moon) in either late January or February. Traditionally celebrations last for fifteen days, ending on the date of the full moon. In China the public holiday lasts for three days and this is the biggest celebration of the year.

Congratulations to all participating pupils both. Well done to the group of pupils from the Senior Room who achieved the 'Runner-Up' place on the night.

Jolly Grammar - Past Tense

Today we were noticing how some consonants 'double-up' when putting them in the past tense.

pat - patted
Sam patted the dog.

hug - hugged
I hugged my granny.

bat - batted
The baseballer batted the ball out of the park and got a home run!
